Lubrication

Lubrication

The need of lubricants able to work also at relative low temperature (200°C) required the development of new additives for lubrication oils. During this collaboration with Prof. Tobin J. Marks and Dr. Massimiliano Delferro we have designed, synthesized and fully characterized different classes of Silver(I) compounds which decompose at very low temperatures (<150) releasing pure metalli silver spots with small amount of impurities due to the ligand decomposition.

These materials were then succesfully tested for lubricant applications.
